          MY FAVORITE PLACE IN SIGIRIYA .  

                   

                       
My Favorite place in Sigiriya .Sigiriya is one of the world  heritage sites in Sri Lanka. It is  located in Matale district. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress. It was built by king Kashyapa.

                  Sigiriya is world famous for its frescoes. Foreign tourists who come to Sri Lanka visit Sigiriya . It is a place of archaeological and historical value.

                  We can see the graffiti or verses on the mirror wall. These verses had been written by the ancient visitors. These verses help us to learn about the evolution and development of our language.

      Although King Kashyapa is regarded as a patricide , He was a lover of Art.

                    We have to climb up the rock along a flight of steps through the mouth of large carved  lion. 


                  The rock is 600ft in height . There are ruins of an ancient place on the top of the rock . There is also a moat around the rock. 


    Sigiriya is regarded as the eight wonder of the world .  There were the marvelous water garden , moonstones  , moat and cobra hood etc....

It is situated in the middle of the town  I live in .  It is a very large school. The school building is old but beautiful. There are many classrooms in it . The principal is Ranjith Shrivardhan . He is a kind and very efficient man . The teachers of My School are of many races. They are all very clever and hardworking teachers.                               It has a stone  building.
