   MY FAVORITE SPORT.

                                   There are lot of sports for children in our country. But My Favorite Sport in Cricket. Cricket is a very famous sport. Cricket is the National Sport of the England. But now it has spread in many countries. It is the most popular sport in Sri Lanka. 

                          It can be played by Men, Women and Children of all ages. It is an outdoor game which requires a Bat, Ball and Stumps. There are Batsmen , Bowlers , Wicket - Keepers and Fielder in each team . It is usually played on field by two teams of eleven players and the team that scores more runs , wins the game.






                        There is a total of three umpires to give decisions of Out , Not out , Four and Six . Two umpires are present on the ground. Cricket is played in many forms like Test matches , One day matches and twenty 20 matches etc...

                      It is also a very fascinating game , It has the power of attracting the spectators , attention from the beginning to the end . That is why everyone gathers around the T.V. set on days when cricket matches are played. 


               We can enjoy thoroughly by watching the matches over the television cricket teaches as good moral values too. It teaches us to take both victory and defeat alike.

                    As we know cricketers spend hours and hours under the scorching sun to bring fame to their country. We have a world famous cricket team . We won the world championship in cricket in 1996.

       That's why many people love Cricket and this is My Favorite Sport.

It is situated in the middle of the town  I live in .  It is a very large school. The school building is old but beautiful. There are many classrooms in it . The principal is Ranjith Shrivardhan .             MY FAVORITE PLACE IN SIGIRIYA .                                                 My Favorite place in Sigiriya   . S igiriya is one of the world  heritage sites in Sri Lanka. It is  located in Matale district. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress. It was built by king Kashyapa.                   Sigiriya is world famous for its frescoes.
